Gerrards Cross Golf Club

Corporate & Societies

Organisers Notes

Initial Planning and Contact with the Secretary's Office
*

  • We reserve starting times for societies but not for less than 12 players. After viewing the Club's web site (www.gxgolf.co.uk), the preferred method of communication is by telephone, as various enquiries and provisional bookings can be settled instantly.
  • Gerrards Cross is a very popular Golf course and our Society days get booked very quickly. We would recommend you book early to avoid disappointment.
  •  An information pack will be sent after making your provisional booking
  • Your booking will remain provisional until you send a deposit of £100.
  • Should you cancel your booking it is regretted that your deposit cannot be refunded. Should the Club cancel the booking (eg course closure) your deposit will of course be returned.
  • Please be as accurate as possible regarding the numbers you expect to play, as it is our policy to accommodate two small societies on the same day if numbers permit. If the final number of players is significantly below your notification to the office in the week in which your golf day occurs, the Club reserves the right to levy a cancellation charge of £10 for each absentee.
  •  If you wish to display flags or banners on the course, please deliver them to the Office three days before your event.
  • All visitors should possess a current handicap certificate, maximum 28 for men and maximum 36 for ladies. Players without an official handicap may be permitted to play upon application to the Office.
  • You are responsible for ensuring all your players can play to a proficient standard.

Nearer the day of your event
*

  • Please notify the Office of your numbers a week before your visit. Small adjustments to numbers can be made up to 48 hours before tee off.
  • You are requested to familiarise your society with the Club's dress code.
  • Scorecards can be sent to you for marking up before your day.
  • Please allow sufficient time to arrive for scheduled tee starts.
  • The club accepts 3 ball Stableford at 8 minute intervals for societies. Fourballs  after lunch may be permitted on agreement with the Office.

 On the Day
*

  • A Club host will welcome you to Gerrards Cross Golf Club, assist with ordered refreshments and familiarise you with the Clubhouse layout, the location of starting tees and the day's security code.
  • The club starter will provide information as appropriate and "nearest the pin" and "longest drive" markers if ordered. (The last group in is responsible for their safe return). You are requested to provide the starter with the society's start sheet.
  • The Pro Shop will be open for the hire of trolleys and any purchases. Three (2 seater) buggies are also available for hire at £25 each but advance booking is recommended.
  • Your members should AVOID SLOW PLAY (eg. Put out your lower handicap players first – pick up if a score is not possible).
  • It is unnecessary for visitors to change at lunchtime provided their clothes are clean and dry. Jacket and tie  are required for dinner.
  • Towels are provided in the locker rooms.
  • The club cannot be responsible for loss or damage to players' property and so security should be high on your agenda.
  • All payments due to the Club are to be paid before the society leaves. Your deposit will be deducted from the final invoice.

The Organiser will be given a "Feedback" form, the completion of which will assist the Club in successfully planning future society days. All completed forms will be entered in a draw at the end of the season for one prize of a round of golf for two.
