Please ensure the following are adhered to:

Repair pitch marks immediately
If using a golf trolley do not pull it across tees or temporary greens or within 10 yards of the front of the green.
Keep up with the match in front not just in front of the match behind you .
No round should take more than 3.5 hrs.
HEALTH & SAFETY
In the event of inclement weather conditions, the following will apply;
SUSPENSION OF PLAY
For a dangerous condition - One prolonged note of a klaxon or a rocket will be sounded .
RESUMPTION OF PLAY
One prolonged note of a klaxon or a loud bang from a rocket.
On hearing a prolonged note or a loud bang it is recommended that you shelter immediately.
YARDAGES
All yardages are to the centre of the green.
GERRARDS CROSS GOLF CLUB LOCAL RULES
1. Out of Bounds (Rule 27-1)
(a) Beyond all boundary fences and on or over boundary walls
(b) The cricket and practice grounds to the left of the 2nd,10th,14th&17th holes and the track to the Cottage to the rear of the 18th green. All are defined by white stakes.
(c)The Green Keepers compound defined by the palisade fence and white stake. The fence is not an obstruction, relief is not permitted under Rule 24-2
(d)The pathway from the gates by the 18th green, along the practice putting green in front of the clubhouse to the edge of the hedge as defined by white stakes.
Note : Out of bounds posts, fences or stakes are all fixed and relief is not permitted under Rule 24-2
2. Water hazards (Rule 26)
All drainage ditches, whether indicated by stakes or not.
The River Misbourne at the 1st, 3rd and 18th holes.

The pond to the left hand side of the 7th hole is now both a water hazard and lateral water hazard.
The pond to the right hand side of the 8th green is now a lateral water hazard, marked by red stakes.
If your ball finishes in a water hazard (yellow stakes) the options are to:

The additional option you have if your ball finishes in a lateral water hazard (red stakes) is: To drop a ball outside the water hazard within 2 club-lengths of and not nearer the hole than (i) the point where the ball last crossed the margin of the hazard or (ii) a point on the opposite margin of the water hazard equidistant from the hole. All 3 options carry a penalty of 1 shot.

(N.B Local Rules for water hazards on 7th& 8th have been changed -Secretary 20.05.10)
The moat (including the island) between the 10th and 11th holes and the River Misbourne at the 3rd hole are lateral water hazards and are indicated with red stakes.
The ditch to the left of the 18th fairway is a lateral water hazard.
3. Roads and Paths
With exception of :
(a)the road to, and the tarmac areas of ,the greenkeepers' compound,outside the fence,
(b) the11th Tee car park
(c) man made stone paths with timber edging
All paths are deemed to be integral parts of the course. The ball must be played as it lies or declared unplayable. (See 5(b) below)
4. Immovable Obstructions (Rule 24-2)
(a)If a staked tree interferes with a player's stance or area of intended swing, the ball must be lifted and dropped within one club-length of the nearest point of relief.
(b)Supports bordering pathways may be treated as Immovable Obstructions
5. Movable Obstructions
Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies)
6. Fixed Sprinkler Heads
All sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief frominterference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2. In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between theball and the hole, the player may obtain relief, without penalty as follows:
If the ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and is within two club lengths of the intervening obstruction it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which :
(a) is not nearer the hole
(b) avoids such intervention
(c) is not a hazard or on the putting green
7. Temporary Greens
The practice green adjacent to the 18th hole and all temporary greens are deemed to be "WRONG PUTTING GREENS" . Relief must be taken in accordance with Rule 25-3 (lift and drop within one club-length of the nearest point of relief.
8. Distance Measuring Devices
A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. Players may not use a device that has the ability to measure gradient, wind speed, temperatureEtc - Only distance!Penalty forbreach of Rule 14-3 will be disqualification
