At the preview of the Centenary Timeline Exhibition on New Year's Eve Men's Captain, Chris North gave a brief address. He explained that attendance had been restricted to comply with the club's covid safety guidelines. Those invited were, club officials, masterminds of the exhibition accompanied by partners and guests.
Chris congratulated the co-creators, former Chair & Ladies' Captain, Catriona Porter and current President, Brian Roake, They also provided all of the research and creative effort required to mount a major project of this nature. The style and staging of the exhibition in the newly named Centenary Room are equally impressive.
Further praise for Catriona and Brian for their publishing skills with the recent release of the latest Centenary edition of the History of Gerrards Cross Golf Club hardback. This is an updated version of the original published many years ago by the late Jim Gregson, crime author and former Captain at GX.
Sue Holdship, Ladies' Captain declared the Centenary Exhibition open to members and guests. Catriona and Brian's duties not quite over as they added Guides for the assembled group to their CVs . Make sure you take up the invitation from Sue.
