Ladies Coffee Morning raises £600 for the Captains' Charity

A near return to normal as the Ladies Section held its traditional January Coffee Morning. For newer members, in the past this event launched the fun raising year for the Lady Captain's charity. This year Chris and Sue were down to business much earlier on Day 1, the proceeds from the Joint Captains' Drive In opened the account for the charity.  The Coffee Morning  is an opportunity to get together and also showcase  the charity, Hugh Thompson from The Ruth Strauss Foundation gave a presentation, the funds raised were through a raffle. The 1st prize, a Centenary jumper, was won by Gail Sharp who then generously offered it up for auction. Carolyn Betts put in the winning bid.

Sue's thank you message  to the GX Ladies:

"I am overwhelmed with the generosity and support you showed today, not only from those that attended but from those that couldn't make it . You raised £600 for The Ruth Strauss Foundation, a charity that supports so many grief stricken families, thank you so much."   Sue
