On Sunday 22nd May fine weather attracted a good turnout of competitors and spectators for the GX 5K Fun 2022 . Activities and organisation were based on East Common, near the children's playground. Gerrards Cross Golf Club entered a team in the Company category and provided a popular attraction for the event.
A large inflatable dartboard, sourced by Adam Grint, provided the target for soft fabric adhesive balls fired from a nearby mat. Head Professional, Alex Nelson and his assistant Jamie Kerley, managed the attraction apart from the time spent participating in the GX 5 K Fun Run as members of the Team GX 100. Martin Hillary assisted by members the Marketing & Membership Committee and Juniors provided support throughout the day. The target golf was restricted to children only, three practice shots after brief tuition followed by 3 shots to count.. A young girl had the impressive top score of 105., runner up scored 92. The club hosted a small promotional stand alongside the dartboard attraction with the aim of recruiting more youngsters to the GX.Junior section.
