GX Centenary Year comes to a close

Debbie Veys and  Chris North, deputizing for Andrew Philpot, hosted the final social event in our Centenary year. Members will be aware that Andrew is recovering from recent heart surgery, he and Debbie send their best wishes to you all for 2023.

A full Lounge was treated to complimentary Prosecco and nibbles, Debbie very much hands on by serving the snacks to tables. Debbie and Chris thanked  members and guests  for their support for golf and social events throughout our Centenary year. The all day rain sadly did not relent for the lowering ceremony of the Centenary flag. Debbie suggested that members and guests should view the ceremony from the  warm convivial clubhouse which was much appreciated by all. Debbie,Chris and  Garnett Ruddell, fanfare trumpeter  braved the elements  to carry out the ceremony in the gloom. Garnet, a GX member, said  he usually plays the French horn semi-professionally, today it was trumpet  but  teaches all brass instruments. More talent in our midst, many thanks to Garnet for taking part.
